Why do I always end up running? Why don't I fight back? Because if I stop running and try to fight back, I'll die. I always run down this mirrored corridor toward an old oak door, feeling hope coming from the other side, but I never make it before I wake up. "Why do you run from me, my love? You know I won't hurt you." A masculine voice echoed in the hallway. No matter how hard I ran, the door wasn't getting closer but rather farther away. I finally stopped, looking around constantly to see where he was going to attack from. Every night was different, sometimes he would attack, sometimes he wouldn't. "Bastard! Leave me be! You tried to have your way with Ash before you planned to kill her. That was after you and that bitch rutted in my bed, wasn't it?" I screamed at him at the top of my lungs. The sound cut through the silence and the laughter that had mocked me. I heard him groan, then curse at me. "Dammit Rani! Don't you love me anymore?" I felt the white-hot rage wrap around my heart and mind, turning each icy with hurt and anger. "No, because you betrayed my love and I feel nothing for you anymore." I growled through clenched teeth.

There was the sound of wings flapping and a gust of air rushed by me. I held my hands up to protect my face. "I betrayed NOTHING!" He yelled at me from somewhere near the ceiling. "You are the one who has betrayed me. I gave you everything that your heart desired. I granted every wish you had, every little whimsical thing, every little favor. I even obeyed your command when you asked for us to not be together until after the wedding. I was your slave, I was the faithful dog to my beautiful mistress." I laughed at him, mocking him this time. "Dog is right; like a dog, you screwed everything that giggled and was more then willing to be bedded by you, but you were never faithful to me." I looked up in time to see a shadow fly towards me. I raised my arms up again in an attempt to protect my face. My head was painfully yanked back causing a gasp of pain to escape me. "Open your eyes my love or I might do something that you will regret." I growled in hatred, "What if I don't? Tell me what you will do?" He laughed coldly. "I will kill you slowly."

I open my eyes as slowly as possible, expecting the worst, but what I saw caused even my strong will to falter. He stood behind me, one hand keeping a hold on my hair, the other on my shoulder and neck. His fingers were splayed across the column of my neck, stroking it which in turn caused shivers to run up and down my spine, but not from pleasure. His eyes, his wonderful stormy eyes, looked at me as if I was the only thing in the world that mattered to him. No! No, I mustn't fall for that again! "Dammit, you Incubus!" I screamed, shaking my head side to side to free my mind, ignoring the pain from my hair. I closed my eyes tight, willing myself to not look. "Oh Rani?" His voice invaded my thoughts, making all my fears dissipate. "Open your eyes, please darling?" A kiss was pressed against my throat, making me shudder, this time it was from pleasure. I gladly opened my eyes, anything to please him. I looked into the mirror; seeing a ebony and scarlet haired girl with her demon lover. What a happy couple.

Something about them was familier. "I could be anyone you want, just say who he is and love me again." I smiled, lifting a hand up to his chiseled features. "Just be you, my love." I stroked his cheek. " No, you love someone else, not me. Who is it Rani?" I continued to smile, finally released of his iron grip in my hair. "Only you." I turned around, stretching up on my tiptoes to kiss him. He grabbed my arms and stopped me. "Who is he? Who is this fool who has a heart in his pocket and he doesn't know he has it. Who is this moron? Who is he so that I can kill him!" He shook me, not knowing that in turn, he released me from his love spell. "I will never tell you!" I hissed, slithering out of his grasp. I made a break for the door, the handle was in reach. "XAMU! Help me!" I screamed, touching the metal. A great weight fell upon me, crushing me into the floor. I scrambled up as I kicked it and reached the door finally. "Rani! Your chains are mine, you belong to me!" Those words echoed in my head as I woke up. I sat up in bed, rubbing my wrists. In the pale moonlight, I saw the markings of manacles. "Your chains are mine, you belong to me....."
